American stand-up comedian Jaboukie Young-White first performed on stage at the age of 19, at an open mic night. The Harvey, IL-native bagged his first, independent gig two years later and from then on, he began to perform at bars and clubs in Chicago and New York City regularly. The year 2016 brought along a change in fortune for the young comedian - he reached the finals of the NYC Devil Cup Stand Up Festival, and began to gain prominence on social media sites like Twitter and Instagram. The subsequent years saw him earn a spot on lists like Rolling Stone's '25 Under 25: Meet the Young Musicians, Actors, Activists Changing the World' and Vulture's '20 Comedians You Should and Will Know.' As his fame grew, Young-White graduated to performing at shows like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Daily Show, and writing for OTT platforms like Netflix.
