About
Vendsyssel FF, can be seen competes in the second-tier football league of Denmark - the Danish 1st Division. The team is based in Hjørring and plays its home matches at the Nord Energi Arena. Founded in 1886 as Hjørring Gymnastikforening the club spent most of its years in the lower leagues, but rechristening itself to FC Hjørring in 2006 changed its fortunes. A fine run of form got it promoted to Danish 2nd Division and in 2010 it made it to 1st Division league for the fist time in its history. In 2013 it merged with Frederikshavn fI and was renamed once again as Vendsyssel FF.
