In 2006 Swedish musician Simon Balthazar decided to form a intelligent indie pop band that would be based in London. The group employs string and brass instruments, like violin and trumpet, into its sound to provide some resonance and character. To spread word about the debut of the band, Fanfarlo decided to release its first album, Reservoir, for a $1 download on its website--although, the price has since been raised.
