Tony Harnell

American rock musician Tony Harnell is probably best-known for his association with the Norwegian band TNT. Born in San Diego, CA to an opera singer, Harnell started singing at five years old. He spent his late teens performing with a number of bands to hone his skills as both - a musician and singer. His time with Bronx-based band Jackals helped him gain recognition in the local music scene and his talent was noted by many music gurus in the NYC area. In 1984, he was roped-in as TNT's lead singer, a role he would fill for three decades. He featured with TNT on numerous studio and compilation albums before parting ways in 2017. He released his debut EP as a solo performer in 2008. It was followed by the full-length album Round Trip, released in 2010 under the name Tony Harnell & The Mercury Train. Harnell has also been a part of the bands Morning Wood, Westworld, Starbreaker, Sonic the Hedgehog and Skid Row.
