Originally called Cytota, Shvpes tool the metal world by storm with its first tour in 2012. Formed in 2009 when band members Harry Jennings and Joby Fitzgerald met at a concert, the band was quick to gain attention through several local underground performances. It spend the next two years touring several times through the UK, expanding its fanbase in the process. In 2014 founding member Joby Fitzgerald announced his departure from Cytota and was replaced by Griffin Dickinson which subsequently resulted in the band being renamed. Success soon followed as the band went on to release two albums - Pain. Joy. Ecstasy. Despair and Greater Than - in two years and tour extensively with several renowned bands.
