Fejd

The band Fejd (meaning "feud" in English) came about as a synthesis of two bands - one, the Scandinavian medieval folk duo Rimmerfors; and two, a few members from the heavy metal band Pathos. The resulting sound can be described as Swedish medieval folk music with the rhythm, instrumentation and drive of heavy metal. Although combining these two musical polar opposites can lead a band down a slippery slope, Fejd somehow manages to pull it off surprisingly well and has helped further the folk/heavy metal fusion genre since the group's formation in 2001.
