The Three Degrees formed in 1963 as a trio of girls from Philadelphia who would go on to catapult themselves into the disco/R&B limelight for the next three decades. Only one of the three girls, Fayette Pickney, remained with the group past its first year. However, this lineup inconsistency did not stop the band from producing multiple chart topping hits over the course of its career. Their fanbase was especially large in the UK, where the band experienced a rush of media popularity after being named "Prince Charles' Favourites" in 1974.
