Homayoun Shajarian

Homayoun Shajarian, the son of the renowned Persian classical singer Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, was born in Tehran. He commenced his training in traditional Persian music at an early age, initially learning the tombak, a traditional Persian hand drum, before concentrating on the kamancheh at the Tehran Conservatory of Music under the guidance of Ardeshir Kamkar. His professional journey began in 1991 when he accompanied his father on the tombak during international performances, and he started to lend his vocal talents alongside his father in 1999. Shajarian embarked on his solo career in 2003 with the album Nassim-e Vasl. Over the years, he has collaborated with a variety of musicians and has explored the fusion of traditional Persian music with contemporary styles. His body of work includes numerous albums and soundtracks, with his latest release being In Oblivion in 2022.
