The Events

The Events is a drama written by David Grieg that premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013. The play follows Claire, a local priest, who grapples with the emotional repercussions of a mass shooting that sends ripples of disquietude through the community. Her faith shaken, she struggles to come to terms with this tragedy as she doggedly seeks an answer that might help her understand why it happened. Backed by a chorus, this moving drama is staged much like a Greek tragedy, steeped in an austerity befitting the play's sensitive theme.
