Though the band classifies itself as an electronic ensemble, Planet Funk has all the makings of a rock band. There's a bassist, guitarist, vocalist and drummer; who all contribute their part to the band's collective noise, but the group employs electronic samples and pre-programed drum beats to give its music a defined electro edge. Formed in 1999, on the heels of the electronic explosion, Planet Funk sings in English and has managed to achieve major crossover appeal in countries like Australia and England.
