Kyuso Nekokami is a Japanese punk rock ensemble that was established in 2009 by members of the music club at Kwansei Gakuin University. Initially facing challenges in securing full-time jobs, the band members opted to focus on their musical aspirations after previously forming several other bands. Their name, inspired by a Japanese proverb that translates to "a cornered rat will bite a cat," embodies their spirited and defiant nature. In 2012, they launched their debut album, Jūdai de Dashitakatta, followed by the successful EP We Are Indies Band!! in 2013, which achieved a position in Oricon's top 20. In 2014, they entered into a contract with Victor Entertainment and released Change the World. Renowned for their satirical lyrics, entertaining performances, and vibrant punk sound, Kyuso Nekokami has steadily increased their fanbase, performing throughout Japan and touring across Asia. With a blend of rebellious punk energy and an eccentric style, they have secured their place as a significant force in the Japanese rock music scene.
