New York quartet The Postelles sounds like it hails from London, with a musical aesthetic characteristic to Britpop versus the lo-fi garage sound that's standard for NYC. Despite this (or perhaps because of this), the band grabbed the attention of front man for The Strokes, Albert Hammond Jr, who agreed to take the band under his wing and produce its debut album. With Hammond's guidance, The Postelles has found an audience for its fairly standard janglepop and has thus built a solid fan base.
