Country Joe McDonald is a San Francisco Bay Area-based singer/songwriter who might best be know as the lead singer of the 1960s psychedelic rock group Country Joe and the Fish. Defining itself with its live performances with The Fillmore as well as the Monterey Pop Festival and Woodstock, Country Joe and the Fish would go on to be regarded as one of the more iconic bands of the hippie scene. Since launching a solo career with his debut album in 1973, Country Joe McDonald has kept busy, regularly releasing LPs and maintaining an active touring schedule.
