Mathilde Gerner, who performs and releases music as Hoshi, is a French singer/songwriter whose style of music blends elements of traditional French chanson with a contemporary pop songwriting approach. Developing an interest in Japanese culture at a young age, Gerner chose to adopt the moniker Hoshi, which means "star" in Japanese, when she started releasing music. Having appeared Having appeared on the popular reality TV show Rising Star in 2014, Gerner would eventually release her debut album as Hoshi in 2018.
