About
Though he was first recognized for his work as a producer, Bruno Mars rose onto the international stage with the release of his debut album, Wops & Hooligans in 2010. Despite an unsuccessful run with Motown Records, he proved himself to be a capable solo artist after signing to Atlantic Records, who championed his hits singles "Grenade" and "Just the Way Your Are." With a couple of hits under his belt, he began the ascent to stardom with a suave stage presence and keen ear for pop tunes. In the face of sky-high expectations, he delivered his sophomoreLP, Unorthodox Jukebox, in 2012 to universal acclaim for its mature songwriting and slick addition of reggae undercurrents.
