Volcano the Bear

Formed in 1995 in Leicester, England, Volcano the Bear is a progressive, experimental rock quartet known for its live shows that consist primarily of free improvisation. Highly procreative, the band releases multiple albums every year (usually on cassettes or CDRs), but the albums are generally recordings of live shows, as the group rarely writes songs to be played over and over again. Though the group took a hiatus from 2000-2006, focusing instead on solo projects, Volcano the Bear reunited to release a double album of "greatest hits" and have been touring and thus releasing more live-recording albums ever since.
