Vacations is an indie rock ensemble hailing from Newcastle, Australia, established in 2015 by lead vocalist and songwriter Campbell Burns, bassist Jake Johnson, lead guitarist Nate Delizzotti, and drummer Joseph Van Lier. The band characterizes their sound as "woozy guitar pop," which merges elements of indie pop with jangle and lo-fi influences. Following the self-release of their EPs Days (2015) and Vibes (2016), they introduced their debut album, Changes, in 2018, succeeded by Forever in Bloom in 2020. Their single "Young," which debuted in 2016, achieved viral success on TikTok in 2022, earning gold certifications in multiple countries and elevating the band's profile. In mid-2023, Burns moved to Los Angeles, a transition that influenced their third album, No Place Like Home, set to be released on January 12, 2024. With a North American tour planned for late 2023 and a nomination for the Rolling Stone Global Award in 2024, Vacations is steadily advancing within the indie music landscape.
