Forrest Avery Carney is professionally recognized as Mr.Kitty, an American singer-songwriter, DJ, and record producer. His musical style is characterized by a fusion of synthwave, synthpop, new wave, and dark wave, creating a nostalgic ambiance. Mr.Kitty commenced his career in 2008 with a collection of remix albums, followed by the release of his debut LP, Until Death Do Us Part, in 2010. He achieved underground acclaim with his 2014 album Time, which included the viral track "After Dark," gaining renewed attention on platforms such as TikTok and YouTube in 2022. His subsequent works, including Fragments (2015) and Ephemeral (2019), solidified his status within the electronic music genre. Nevertheless, in 2021, Mr.Kitty encountered public scrutiny due to allegations of inappropriate online conduct involving a minor, resulting in the termination of his contract with his label.
