Kian, born and raised in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia, was encouraged by his parents to pursue music, since the age of seven. He came in the spotlight with the single "Waiting," a song about dealing with insecurities, which helped him win Triple J Unearthed in 2018. He soon bagged separate record deals for Australia and the rest of the world.
