Ludmila Oliveira da Silva, professionally known as Ludmilla, is a Brazilian singer-songwriter born on April 24, 1995, in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro. She commenced her musical journey in 2012 under the alias "MC Beyoncé," achieving widespread recognition with her viral track "Fala Mal de Mim." Following some legal challenges, she rebranded herself as Ludmilla in 2013 and subsequently signed with Warner Music Brazil, releasing her debut album, Hoje, in 2014. Ludmilla has successfully transitioned from funk carioca to pop music, delving into various genres such as reggaetón, R&B, and pagode. Her discography includes notable albums like A Danada Sou Eu (2016), Hello Mundo (2019), Numanice 2 (2022), and Vilã (2023). In 2020, she made history as the first Afro-Latin American female artist to achieve one billion streams on Spotify. Married to dancer Brunna Gonçalves, Ludmilla is a passionate advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. She received a Latin Grammy for her album Numanice 2 and is celebrated for her powerful mezzo-soprano voice and significant impact on Brazilian pop culture.
