In 2014, childhood friends Arturo Bruni, Nicolò Rapisarda, Dylan Thomas Cerulli and Umberto Violo formed the hip-hop and trap group Dark Polo Gang, after the music producer Sick Luke chanced upon their raps. The group's first mixtape, Full Metal Dark, was released online in 2015. Its first full-length album, Twins, ranked number one on the FIMI Album Ranking. The group's work has received commercial success over the years. Its singles "Caramelle," "Cono" and "Gelato" have been certified gold. The group's album Trap Lovers became its first release as a trio, following Bruni's departure in 2018.
