The baseball team, Cardenales de Lara, was founded in 1942 and it is based in the city of Barquisimeto in Venezuela. The team plays in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League and has also become the league’s titleholder many times. Several impressive players like Robert Pérez, Miguel Cairo and Luis Sojo have been on the team’s roster. Cardenales de Lara plays its home games at the Estadio Antonio Herrera Gutierrez.
