Smith & Thell is a Swedish pop and folk duo formed by Maria Smith and Victor Thell, recognized for their poignant songwriting and enchanting melodies. The pair first crossed paths as teenagers in their hometown of Helsingborg, Sweden, embarking on their musical journey together. They gained initial acclaim in 2015 with their single "Statue," followed by the release of their debut album, Soulprints, in 2017. Their international breakthrough came in 2018 with the hit "Forgive Me Friend," which resulted in a contract with Arista Records. Their second album, Pixie’s Parasol, released in 2021, featured popular songs such as "Hotel Walls" and "Goliath," further establishing their presence in the global music industry. The duo's music, marked by emotional depth, often draws from their personal experiences, including themes of loss and the evolution of romantic relationships into friendships. Smith & Thell have received several prestigious awards, including a Swedish Grammis and a Rockbjörnen award.
