Mikayla Simpson, who is known by her stage name, Koffee, is a Reggae artist from Spanish Town, Jamaica. At the age of 12, she started teaching herself how to play the guitar and that was also when she first began writing songs. The problems that continue to plague everyday life in Jamaica provokes her to voice her opinions through music. Her 2018 single "Raggamuffin" brings to attention the violence and how the government turn a blind eye to the youth of Jamaica. Her songs are entertaining while at the same time, serve the important purpose of creating awareness.
