The Los Angeles Kings are a member of the Pacific Division in the National Hockey League. They entered the league as expansion team in 1967. In 1988, in perhaps the biggest trade in NHL history, the Kings acquired Hall of Famer Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky was the best player in the league at that time and immediately made the Kings a relevant team.
