The Houston Dynamo is a soccer team based out of Houston, Texas that plays in the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. Founded in 2005, the team was originally called Houston 1836, named after the year the city was founded, but later changed its name to the Houston Dynamo. Starting off playing its home games at Robertson Stadium on the University of Houston campus, the team moved into new accommodation at BBVA Compass Stadium in 2012.
