The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are a Major League Baseball team and a member of the American League West Division. Nicknamed “the Halos,” the franchise joined the league as an expansion team in 1961 as the Los Angeles Angels. Since their inception, the franchise has also been called the California and Anaheim Angels. Some of the most famous players to wear an Angels uniform include Nolan Ryan and Rod Carew.
