El Poder del Norte is a prominent norteño band from Monterrey, Nuevo León, established in 1987 by brothers Arturo and Martín Buenrostro, who play the accordion and drums, respectively. Initially named Los Pioneros del Norte, the band gained significant attention with their 1990 album, La Suburban de la Muerte. In 1993, they rebranded to their current name, coinciding with their signing to Disa Records and the release of Mi Decisión. The band is recognized for its innovative fusion of traditional norteño music with electronic percussion, producing several successful albums such as Con Ganas de Ti (1998) and Como Llama (1994). Their romantic ballads, including hits like "A Ella" and "Para Qué Me Engaño," have been instrumental in shaping their musical journey. Over the years, El Poder del Norte has consistently produced music, solidifying their position as a key player in the norteño genre. Their extensive discography highlights their lasting influence on regional Mexican music.
