About
CD Badajoz was formed in 1907 when two teams named Racing and Sport merged. The team’s position fluctuated between the second and third levels of Spanish football throughout its career. It was demoted to the Segunda División B in 2004. The team was dissolved in 2012 owing to financial difficulties but reformed by its loyal supporters in the same year. On reformation, the club gained immediate promotion to Tercera División, with its place in the Segunda División B finally being restored in 2017. The club plays its home matches at Estadio Nuevo Vivero.
