About
CD Alcoyano was founded in 1928. The team won the 1945 season and entered the La Liga for the first time ever. After its initial years of success the club endured a tumultuous phase for decades. It was demoted to Tercera División for the football season of 1953-54. After gaining promotion to the second division in 2011 the team was relegated back to the Segunda División B in the following season. CD Alcoyano plays its home matches at El Collao.
