Pohang Steelers is the oldest football club among K-League teams, formed in 1973. This football club won the championship of the league four times, FA cup three times, league cup twice and AFC champions league once. Their strong squad, based on exhaustive passing play style, never allowed other teams to look down a red and black striped jersey team itself at their home ground Steel Yard. Produced many star players such as Seonhong Hwang, Myeongbo Hong, Sunho Choi and Dongguk Lee, Pohang Steelers forms the most intense derby of southern Korea against Ulsan Hyundai FC, which is called East Coastal Derby.
