A Certain Ratio is a post punk band from Manchester, England that distinguished itself for incorporating a funk and dance-rock style into its sound. Regarded as one of the more iconic post punk bands that was able to blend punk's artistic ideals with a heightened musicianship and intellectual curiosity, A Certain Ratio would stay active through the 1980s and 1990s before going on a hiatus. However, the group returned in 2008 with a new album and renewed touring efforts.
