As Ssangbangul Raiders was taken over by SK Group, SK Wyverns was established as 8th professional baseball team in Korean Baseball League in 2000. Due to the parent company's fervent support, SK Wyverns could build a strong squad and place in high ranks. For a decade after 2002, the team won the Korea Series three times and placed second four times. Star players of SK Wyverns include Jeong Park, Kwanghyeon Kim and Jaehong Park.
