Samsung Lions was established in 1982 as one of 6 professional baseball teams that started to compete in Korean Baseball League. After the team placed second in Korea series in the first year, the team lifted the champion trophy five times more. Based on the fervent support of the parent company Samsung, Lions produced many star players such as Seungyeop Lee, Wonsam Jang, Seunghwan Oh and Junhyeok Yang.
