Founded in 1897 by Jules Rimet, Red Star F.C. is a French football club that competes in the Championnat National and plays its home matches at the Stade Bauer. Based in Paris, Red Star F.C. is one of the oldest football clubs in the country and one of the founding members of the Ligue 1. Also known as L'Étoile Rouge, the club was a dominant force in its early days, having won five Coupe de France titles in that period. Notable players to have represented this club include Augustin Chantrel, Alex Thépot and Guillermo Stábile - the top-scorer at the inaugural edition of the FIFA World Cup.
