Ayr United is a Scottish football club that competes in the Scottish Championship. It was founded in 1910 after the unification of two former clubs Ayr Parkhouse and Ayr F.C. and plays its home matches at Somerset Park. Nicknamed as “The Honest Men”, its list of honors most notably includes multiple Scottish Second Tier and Scottish Third Tier titles. However top-flight success in Scottish football including Cup tournaments has remained elusive. Ally MacLeod, Dick Malone and Sir Alex Ferguson are notable figures who have represented this club.
