Against Me! is an alternative rock band from Gainesville, Florida that was founded in 1997. Founded by singer/songwriter and guitarist Laura Jane Grace initially as a solo act, as more musicians were brought aboard and a fully realized sound was created, the band was born. After honing its approach and refining its chops, the group released its debut album, Against Me! Is Reinventing Axl Rose, in 2002. With a sound that blends emo, punk and rock styles, Against Me! has been praised by fans and critics alike, and is considered one of the leading alternative rock acts of its generation.
