Written in 1959 by acclaimed playwright, Eugene Ionesco, Rhinoceros is a prime example of 20th century absurdist theater. The story takes place in a small town in France where the inhabitants are slowly but surely transforming into rhinoceroses. By the end of the play, he main protagonist, Bérenger, is the only man left in a town full of beasts.
