Tromsø Idrettslag football club competes in the Eliteserien league, which is the top-tier football competition in Norway. It was founded in 1920 in Tromsø and uses the Alfheim Stadion as its home ground. The first major achievement in the club’s history was winning the Norwegian Cup in 1986. The same year, Tromsø made its debut in the Eliteserien league. Since then, it has spent most of its years competing in the top league. The club's roster is used to having skilled players such as Sigurd Rushfeldt, Bjørn Johansen and many more.
