Fleetwood Town F.C. is a football club that was founded in 1997 and is the fourth iteration of the Fleetwood football team that was formed in 1908. It competes in the League One and plays its home matches at the Highbury Stadium in Fleetwood. Known affectionately as “The Fishermen”, it shares a strong rivalry with Blackpool Football Club. Honors won by the club include the North West Counties Football League Premier Division, Northern Premier League Premier Division and the North West Counties Football League First Division Trophy. Notable players to have played for this club include the likes of Jamie Vardy, Kyle Dempsey and Shola Ameobi.
