Haugesund is one of the sixteen competitors in Eliteserien, which is Norway’s top-tier football league. The club was formed in Haugesund in 1993 when the two clubs, SK Haugar and Djerv 1919, joined forces and play as a single entity. The club has made noteworthy achievements in its history which includes winning the Bronze medal in the Eliteserien league. Its roster has been home to many talented players like Tor Arne Andreassen, Erik Huseklepp and Thomas Sørum. The club uses the Haugesund Stadion for its home games.
