About

Eric C. Burton, who operates under the pseudonym Rabit, is an American producer of experimental electronic music hailing from Houston and is the founder of the label Halcyon Veil. He commenced his career by producing experimental grime music and gained significant recognition with his debut album, Communion, released in 2015 through the Tri Angle label. Critics have characterized his music as intense and "violent," as it challenges the conventional boundaries of electronic sound. In 2017, Burton played a role in Björk's Grammy-nominated album Utopia, where he produced the track "Losss." That same year, he unveiled Les Fleurs Du Mal, which represented a transition towards more abstract and experimental musical styles. Over the years, he has released several albums, including Life After Death (2018) and What Dreams May Come (2022), all under his own label. Additionally, Burton has produced mixtapes featuring chopped and screwed music, reflecting his Houston heritage and the influence of DJ Screw. Through Halcyon Veil, he continues to influence the landscape of experimental electronic music.
