Ballymena United is a Northern Irish semi-professional football club that plays in the NIFL Premiership. Known affectionately as “Sky Blues”, it was founded in 1928 and uses the Ballymena Showgrounds as its home stadium. The club has a very illustrious past with several domestic achievements including the Irish Cup, County Antrim Shield, Northern Ireland Football League Cup, Irish league First Division and has also featured in European tournaments such as the UEFA Cup, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup and the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
