Helmond Sport is a football club that was formed in 1967. The city of Helmond in the Netherlands is its home and the SolarUnie Stadion is its home ground. The club's best run of form came during the 1981-1982 season of Eerste Divisie which resulted in it claiming its first league title. This was a milestone victory for the club and it also opened the doors to the Eredivisie. But the top league was a new frontier and it was unable to maintain its form over higher quality teams. Helmond Sport was relegated after two seasons and it has been playing in the Eerste Divisie ever since.
