The German-based indie rock troupe Kilans perfectly epitomize the DIY attitude of many bands on the modern music scene. During its 2007 tour of Europe the band built a reputation for itself by setting up its own guerrilla gigs on camping sites adjacent to music festivals. Acts like this brought the attention of curious listeners as well as eager record labels, and now the group is one of the pre-eminent bands to track in the German indie rock scene.
