About
The Orangeville A's were a Canadian professional basketball franchise established in 2012 in Brampton, Ontario. They joined the National Basketball League of Canada and commenced their competitive play in the 2013–14 season. Originally known as the Brampton A's, the team relocated to Orangeville in September 2015, choosing the Athlete Institute as their primary venue. The A's experienced a strong start, securing second place in their division during their first season and qualifying for the playoffs in the following years. Nevertheless, the team faced difficulties in later seasons, leading to its dissolution after the 2016–17 season. Throughout their short existence, the A's featured prominent players and coaches, such as Rick Bodiford and head coach Brandon Lesovsky. Their overall performance included 72 victories and 74 defeats, with a playoff record of 8 wins and 15 losses. Despite the obstacles they encountered, the A's played a significant role in promoting basketball in Ontario.
