The Mexican baseball team, Cañeros de Los Mochis, competes in the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico. It was founded in 1947 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. For many of its early years, the club struggled to create major waves. But this changed at the 1968–69 season of the league. Even though it faced a rocky start, the team managed to pave its way to the finals and win its first league title. By 2003, the team had added two more titles to its credit. Cañeros de Los Mochis plays its home games at the Estadio Emilio Ibarra Almada.
