The type of music the Jacksonville, Florida-based band Black Kids makes sounds like the type of material a group would make that was popular in the drug-fueled disco halls of the late 1970s. But members of Black Kids weren't even born during disco's heyday--the group released its debut LP, Partie Traumatic, in 2006. Despite arriving on the music scene nearly 30 years too late, the band is still accepted by music fans and critics alike, who are unashamed of its love of disco inspired indie rock.
