Hanshin Tigers is a professional baseball team that competes in the Central League of Nippon Professional Baseball. Established in 1935, it is one of Japan's oldest professional clubs, though it was known as Osaka Tigers during its early years. WIth a number of major titles to its credit, the team is one of the League's heavyweights and are always top contenders to win championship. Based in Nishinomiya, Hyōgo, Japan, it plays its home games at the Hanshin Koshien Stadium.
