Shilpa Ray is a New York City-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who initially broke out with her band Shilpa Ray and Her Happy Hookers in the mid-2000s. With a sound that infuses blues with punk rock sensibilities, Ray has managed to distinguish herself on the modern New York music scene. Though the Happy Hookers disbanded in 2011, Ray has carried on with solo endeavors, releasing her debut album, Last Year's Savage, in 2015.
